They travelled all the way over to our little город герой to help make this event an even more meaningful one.

1st May 2009 (Friday)

On the much-awaited first day of camp, we arrived at the site at exactly 1pm. After settling in and getting acquainted with one another, we filled our stomachs with 2 good-ol’ McDonald’s chicken burger. We were then divided into 4 groups namely :
1) The Power Rangers
2) The Fantastic 6
3) The Conquerors
4) God’s Home
First up on the schedule was Games – what better than those involving water balloons. We were all geared up and busy strategizing to win. All hell broke lose when the whistle was blown as groups started running wildly through the forest, girls screaming their hearts out trying to protect themselves from getting wet. Although toes were cut, nails got split, sole had splinters, it was indeed a good way to start off the camp as everyone’s true colors were shown.
After dinner we had our first Session conducted by Xun Jin who spoke about whether there were MORE to life than what we had now. He further explained that God wants to make us inheritors of his kingdom so that we can be an impact to our world, knowing that we have been called for excellence.

2nd May 2009 (Saturday)

We started off with a 30 minute devotion, followed by a satisfying sausage and eggs breakfast. By 10am we started our 2nd session of the camp. We were more than honored and thrilled to have our guest speaker Ps. Simon Milongo to join us.
He shared about faithfulness, wisdom and discipleship. James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. It is one thing to ask the Lord for wisdom, but on the other hand, we should also be ready to pay the cost thrown at us like time, money, and strength.
After lunch we had 2 workshops conducted by both Kelvin Yii and Xun Jin. Kelvin spoke about what worship and prayer is. Worship is our love response to what His word and spirit have revealed to us about glory and goodness. It is an expression of our authentic love for God. While prayer is basically communication with God.
Both worshipping and praying is not a set of rules. Instead, it is a heart’s longing and desire to get in touch with our Heavenly Father.
On the other hand, Xun Jin spoke about organizational leadership which meant adding value to people and to the organization, leading them to a better place or a higher level. And in every organization there are specific components needed for success, namely :
1) Purpose
2) People
3) Money
4) Assets

On our 3rd session, we had the privilege to once again listen to what Kelvin Yii had to say. This time about being Passionately Passionate! ‘Passion and persistency will make an average person superior, but a lack of passion will make a superior person average’. All in all, he concluded that passion spells out :
P – Purpose
A – Attitude
SS – Sacrificial Spirit
I – Incentive
O – Ownership
N – Never give up

We ended our 2nd day of camp with an amazing campfire @ BBQ before calling it the night.

3rd May 2009 – Sunday

Once again, we started off with a 30-minute devotion followed by breakfast of scrambled eggs and bread. We then proceeded with our 4th and final session of our camp, conducted by our own Dennis Katkov who shared about being Empowered to Impact. He spoke about not giving up even though we do not see any results immediately and continue to do good to others without expecting it in return. In other words, we should pass on the impact and be a blessing to the people around us.
We had some free time after lunch before the much-awaited Talent Time begun where every group had the chance to not only portray their talents and capability but also a time for us to just laugh, relax and have fun together.
As the end of the camp drew closer, we heavy heartedly packed up our bags and loaded them onto the bus. We took countless photographs, exchanged contact numbers and said our goodbyes before leaving the campsite.
All in all, this camp was indeed a great success as everyone left with a smile on their faces. I promise you, this is just the beginning of many more awesomeness to come! See you guys next year!

by Lily Chong

JE Camp

Have life become sorta a routine? It looked as if we had just entered a posh restaurant. We were asked to take our seats and in just a couple of minutes, the guys brought in our dinner. We were served Beef steak(with an awesome tasting black pepper sauce), mashed potatoes, and fresh saladsWe toasted and started our exquisite dinner. And much to our surprise, the guys prepared dessert as well. Chocolate-fondue with marshmallows, bananas, strawberries, and ice cream.

While enjoying our desert, Kelvin shared with us on the topic ‘love’.

We discussed about what Love is all about and Kelvin taught us about the 5 different kinds of Love in Greek and The 3 Myths of Love.

Kelvin then asked us what was our ‘dream valentine date’ would be like and it was nice to know that all of us, guys and girls have our own different wants, and perception of how we would like our valentine to be.

The best part was when we were asked to write a love poem containing 3 words: Hug, Love and Longkang water(drain water)..

Well, of our poems were no where near Shakespeare’s but it was pretty amusing. there wasn’t a winner for everyone had their own way of writing a poem, a few was funny, some corny, and for one or two pieces it was actually quite romantic even after the word ‘longkang water’ was included..=)

Fellowship/ dinner ended at 11pm. The guys surprised us once again. The brought us gifts!!!!!!and wats best? They gave us a sermon CD. about how to choose our life partner..(something we ALL need!) and…and…and… ROSES!!!!!!!...I was actually expecting a box of chocolates or something of that sort, but didn’t not roses.

In short, these guys actually brought a new meaning to Valentine’s Day. Its not only a day to celebrate as couples, romance etc, but it’s a day to celebrate with the ones we love, and our, brothers and sisters in Christ. It wasn’t only fun, it was something we all needed: being loved, being cared for, and also to love and to care…God Bless

by annette

El Amor Mas Grande

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://widget-b0.slide.com/widgets/slideticker.swf" style="width: 436px; <![endif]-->
All The Glory to Our Father in heaven!

WOW! Is all that can be said to express how I feel about Xmas Bash 08. It was such a privilege to witness the hard work, effort, and sweat poured out by everyone in Jesus Embassy leading up to Christmas Bash 2008 El Amore MAs Grande!. As it turned out, the event was indeed a night to remember. God’s love was shared with a crowd of more than 300 people on the 27th of December.

It wasn't long before the hall was filled with people, everyone looked Amazing. Many of our guests weren’t first timers and they have been looking forward to this annual event since the invitations were out week’s ago. There were at least 15 nations represented, It was the most diverse we had thus far. Guests from Russia, Malaysia, China, India, Ghana, Kenya, Congo, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Afghanistan, Iraq, Mauritius, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Vietnam and even Kazakhstan participated in this year’s Xmas bash. It is simply mind blowing to see so many nations of the world gathering together.

The night started with a introductory video clip of our previous Christmas Bashes followed by carols. This year’s carols though was rather unique as it started off with a rap of the song “Joy To The World” which ushered in the entire choir and before long the whole crowd started to sing. An exuberant atmosphere permeated the air throughout the night. There were live band performances from our own band AO1 (Audience Of One) and a Christian Russian rock 'AkEa'. The students were all hyped up as they jumped and sang along to the band was. We were then entertained by a traditional African dance and also a hilarious drama about how a South African family celebrates Christmas, which was wonderfully presented by the "The Impressions of God" drama team. We also had dance battle where we saw two team “battle it out” with amazing hip-hop and break dance moves that got everyone on edge . Our Poly tech students presented a musical mime based on Psalm 3 that God is a shield for us and in Him we stand strong. The girls did a dance to the song "Worthy is the Lamb" and people were just touched by the message of Jesus Christ that was shown. In the end our youth pastor came up and shared the message of How Jesus came on Christmas day to die for us and through Him we have salvation and eternal life.

The Mr and Ms Christmas award which we started last year seemed to have become a tradition. During the event itself, our organizers had secretly picked out a few nominees, these charming few were later required to dance, sing and even act out a marriage proposal to win the crowd over.

As it is for every Jesus Embassy event, food is always a highlight. This year we had an Asian fusion of Chinese and Indian cuisine. By God’s grace the food turned out well and was more than sufficient that People could even come back for second helpings and yet the food didn't run out. All the Glory to God!

One can only stand in wonder as we see how the events unfold especially when we started off with nothing. God provided the Funds, the man power and everything just fell in place even though there were some minor glitches. Indeed all praise and glory goes to You, Abba father, God of heaven and the earth

Ps. Kudos to all in Jesus Embassy, it is an honor working alongside with you guys and your dedication is indeed a great encouragement

By Kelvin Yii

For more pictures of the event click here

Xmas bash 08 intro

xmas bash

The most anticipated event of the year is back !!
Admission is free and open to all

address:
400012, Россия, Волгоградская обл., г. We had with us freshmen Kian Leong, Adrian, Jen Fai and Jason. Its their first time on a Russian style barbeque. The barbeque kicked off with Xun Jin and Kelvin demonstrating their scouting skills by getting the barbeque pit ready and the flames up. We actually dug trenches in the ground. Soon the deliciously scent of pork and chicken “shashliks”(skewered meat) was permeating the air. These bunch of people were busy tucking into fried rice, sausages and spaghetti. In short everyone had a good time filling their bellies and enjoying one another’s company, pretty good for an otherwise uneventful day. The falling darkness had us cut short the fun as the guys were just getting into a game of football. With all this said be on the lookout for the next JE cookout.
  By Johanan.

wassup! making new friends

What started off as a simple gesture to welcome the freshmen who arrived in Volgograd has now become a JesusEmbassy tradition. Three years ago, “Wassup! Making new friends “
began as a simple party . We had dance performances, games, music and off coarse
food. This year, by the grace of God we carried on the tradition

Wassup! Making new friends 2008 kicked off with a number from our Russian youth. Needless to say, the band was spectacular. By 6.30 in the evening , a crowd of about a hundred and thirty
people had already filled the hall. This year, we were joined by Russian guests
as compared to the previous years. For one and a half hour, we kept our guest
on their feet and cheering for more especially after a contemporary dance by
the LIFE dance group. It was obvious that the freshmen were initially a little
abashed and shy but after some ice breaking and games they went right into the
mood. To top it, our very own drama team pulled a hilarious skit of a commencing
Russian class, which turned out to be outrageously funny. The last item for
the night was a performance by “Audience Of One”, a band by our
very own Jesus Embassy members. The musicians got the crowd all hyped up and
cheering but had to turn down the volume after three songs, to make way for
food. Our audience were initially disappointed but not for long.

This year the menu for the day was Asian cuisine, Chinese and Indian cooking to be exact. Our guests tucked into portions of sweet and sour chicken and curried vegetable mix. In
short the food was delightful. When it seemed that all fun is about to end,
we extended yet another invitation: XMAS Bash 2008, which is to be coming soon.
It is humbling to know how we started off with this event and where have we arrived to. In everything that we do, all thanksgiving and glory to our father in heaven

Visiting speakers !!

Ron & Grace Hee are the senior pastors of New Life Restoration Centre, one of the key leading churches in Malaysia. It was indeed a new and unforgettable experience as we were invited not only to participate but also to minister as well, in leading worship and sharing the word. It is simply amazing how, a trip to a city which before this was completely unknown can bring a change to the lives our members. The God we serve is indeed an awesome God.

A little history: Smolensk is a city in western Russia, located on the Dnieper River. It is one of the oldest standing cities in Russia. To say the least, the 20 hour journey in a van was anything but comfortable. However the fun and laughter we had, quickly made us forget about how cramped the van actually was.

The conference themed “hearts ablaze “kicked of with our host, Pastor Andrea welcoming the guest and a short time of getting to know one another. What followed for the next 2 days were amazing sessions of praise and worship led by youths from different cities throughout Russia, off which Jesus embassy had the honor of leading two of the sessions. Now this was the first time that we led praise and worship in Russian. We were also taught In God’s word through the messages that were preached and the workshops.

A quick summary about the messages during the conference:

1)Do not have a stereotype mentality. God does not always work in the way we would expect, for example He chose David who was the lease of his brothers to be king. Therefore we must be ready to allow God to do unbelievable things in our lives.

      2)

2) As Christians, our life resembles a cup ,we can only pour out whatever we have within us, so we must fill our lives with God’s word

      3)

3) The power of the cross to forgive sins and to bring about a change in our lives. A change that would make other people want to know Jesus

      4)

4) To follow after the footsteps of king Josiah, who at a very young age decided to follow God and tear down the idols of his time.

There were also talks on Relationship and workshops on the area of “worship, evangelism, Godly dreams, and believing God in the modern world”. The leaders from Jesus embassy were also given the pulpit to share the message that God has placed in their hearts to the youths.

It would have been a waste to travel so far and not see the city. Fortunately for us, God blessed us with Michael and Julia. This lovely couple whom the students befriended during the conference was kind enough to take the team on a tour into the city and also to get a taste of the local food. Smolensk is indeed a beautiful city. Many ancient buildings and lovely parks were spotted.

Throughout the camp we spend a great amount of time mingling with the youth and listening to them share about what God has been doing in their lives and also their dreams and desires. It’s a glimpse of what the apostle Paul would have felt among the gentiles. It was also a good experience for the Jesus Embassy team as they act in drama, sing, and even preach on stage. This conference was really a one of a kind sort of experience.

As the hour too leave came about, we found that regardless of nationality , culture or even language differences, the love of Christ binds us as a family

A shout out to the team: The greatest act one can do is to worship God and love Him. Its population was estimated as 351,100. Situated 360 km west-southwest of Moscow, this walled city was destroyed several times throughout its long history since it was on the invasion routes of both Napoleon and Hitler. Today, Smolensk is noted for electronics, textiles, and food processing. Smolensk is among the oldest of Russian cities. The first recorded mention of the city was 863 AD, two years after the founding of ancient Russia. According to Russian Primary Chronicle, Smolensk was the capital of the Slavic Krivichs tribe in 882 when Oleg took it in passing from Novgorod to Kiev. Due to its central position amid Russian lands, the city developed rapidly. By the end of the 12th century the princedom was one of the strongest in Eastern Europe, so that Smolensk dynasty frequently controlled the “Kievan” throne. Numerous churches were built in the city at that time, including the church of Sts Peter and Paul (1146, reconstructed to its presumed original appearance after WWII) and church of St John the Baptist (1180, also partly rebuilt). The most remarkable church in the city is called Svirskaya (1197, still standing); it was admired by contemporaries as the most beautiful structure to the east of Kiev.

WASSUP! #10 is out!

Dear friends, by the grace of God we have released the
latest issue of the Wassup!Newsletter (volume #10). It is a great privilege
for us to bring the Good News to international students in Russia.
We hope you guys, enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed producing it

The HOT topics in this volume are:
1) Exposing the truth on pornography by Gene McConnell
2) Shout-out - feedback from our faithful readers
3) Real Life Story "Ticket 2 Russia: much freedom, little
supervision, a lot of distractions" by Dalvin
4) Breaking YouthNews from Volgo and Moscow
5) e-wisdom
6) Wassup!Answers: "Q #1 - The Bible says that it is God's will for
everything. But then there are things that are whispered in the bed chamber that are not for everyone's ears to hear...

This is what the word 'secret' means. God has things to say to us that He will not shout out in general places...things that He will not speak out loud in a company of strangers, guests, or even around the table...but only in the place of intimacy.

David said that God reveals these secret things to those who FEAR Him. The more you learn the FEAR of the LORD, the more intimate you become with Him and then He begins to reveal the 'secret' things...things not spoken to just any one...There are things that we say to our boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, that we will not say to anyone else; it is reserved for them alone. Fear of the Lord causes God to say things to us, reveal things to us that are not spoken to just anyone nor can it be. OH, hallelujah!

Pastor Paul Ellis

When God weeps..

The face that Moses had begged to see, was forbidden to see, was slapped bloody (Exodus 33:19-20). The thorns that God had sent to curse the earth's rebellion now twisted around his own brow...."On your back with you!" One raises a mallet to sink in the spike. But the soldier's heart must continue pumping as he readies the prisoner's wrist. Someone must sustain the soldier's life minute by minute, for no man has this power on his own. Who supplies breath to his lungs? Who gives energy to his cells? Who holds his molecules together? Only by the Son do "all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). The victim wills that the soldier live on—he grants the warriors continued existence. The man swings. As the man swings, the Son recalls how he and the Father first designed the medial nerve of the human forearm—the sensations it would be capable of. The design proves flawless—the nerves perform exquisitely. -"Up you go!"

They lift the cross. God is on display in his underwear and can scarcely breathe. But these pains are a mere warm-up to his other and growing dread. He begins to feel a foreign sensation. Somewhere during this day an unearthly foul odor began to waft, not around his nose, but his heart. He feels dirty. Human wickedness starts to crawl upon his spotless being the living excrement from our souls. The apple of his Father's eye turns brown with rot.

His Father! He must face his Father like this! From heaven the Father now rouses himself like a lion disturbed, shakes his mane, and roars against the shriveling remnant of a man hanging on a cross. Never has the Son seen the Father look at him so, never felt even the least of his hot breath. But the roar shakes the unseen world and darkens the visible sky. The Son does not recognize these eyes.

"Son of Man! Why have you behaved so? You have cheated, lusted, stolen, gossiped, murdered, envied, hated, lied. You have cursed, robbed, overspent, overeaten, fornicated, disobeyed, embezzled, and blasphemed. Oh, the duties you have shirked, the children you have abandoned! Who has ever so ignored the poor, so played the coward, so belittled my name? Have you ever held your razor tongue? What a self-righteous, pitiful drunk you, who molest young boys, peddle killer drugs, travel in cliques, and mock your parents. Who gave you the boldness to rig elections, foment revolutions, torture animals, and worship demons? Does the list never end! Splitting families, raping virgins, acting smugly, playing the pimp, buying politicians, practicing exhortation, filming pornography, accepting bribes. You have burned down buildings, perfected terrorist tactics, founded false religions, traded in slaves, relishing each morsel and bragging about it all. I hate, loathe these things in you! Disgust of everything about you consumes me!

Can you not feel my wrath?"
Of course the Son is innocent. He is blameless itself. The Father knows this. But the divine pair have an agreement, and the unthinkable must now take place. Jesus will be treated as if personally responsible for every sin ever committed. The Father watches as his hearts treasure, the mirror image of himself, sinks drowning into raw, liquid sin. Jehovah's stored rage against humankind from every century explodes in a single direction.

"Father! Father! Why have you forsaken me?!"
But heaven stops its ears. The Son stares up at the One who cannot, who will not, reach down or reply. The Trinity had planned it. The Son endured it.The Spirit enabled him. The Father rejected the Son whom he loved. Jesus, the God-man from Nazareth, perished. The Father accepted his sacrifice for sin and was satisfied.

the Rescue was accomplished.

(taken from: "when God weeps" by Steven Estes & Joni Eareckson)

JE saturday nite service - with pastor Rand and Nikki

wassup! people,
Pastor Rand and nikki Montgomery is an amazing couple who isn't new to Jesus Embassy. They serve God in South-East Asia as part of the Missionary Ventures organization and is currently based in Thailand. It was actually a collaboration with United - the Russian youth group. Our dear brothers from the Polytechnic University joined us in leading worship as well.

Much could be said about how awesome the event was, and how well the musicians played. "To Him be all the glory and honour and power!"
The highlight isn't the music , or the crowd , or the lives that were changed but JESUS. In the presence of God , one can only stand in awe and hunger for more.

The latest issue of wassup is out !!

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168378072446559298" style="DISPLAY: block; We see 12
months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes, 31,536,000
seconds. And all this is a gift from God. We have done nothing to deserve it,
earn it, or purchased it. Like the air we breathe, time comes to us as a
part of life. The gift of time is not ours alone. It is given equally to
each person. Rich and poor, educated and ignorant, strong and weak - every
man, woman and child has the same twenty-four hours every day.
Another important thing about time is that you cannot stop it. There is no
way to slow it down, turn it off, or adjust it. Time marches on. And you
cannot bring back time. Once it is gone, it is gone. Yesterday is lost
forever. If yesterday is lost, tomorrow is uncertain. We may look ahead at
a full year's block of time, but we really have no guarantee that we will
experience any of it.Obviously, time is one of our most precious possessions.
We can waste it.We can worry over it. We can spend it on ourselves.
Or, as good stewards,we can invest it in the kingdom of God.
The new year is full of time. As the seconds tick away, will you be
tossing time out the window, or will you make every minute count?
Be a wise steward of time in the coming year 2008! Appreciate every moment
given to you by God and use it for His glory!
Have a blessed New Year!

Den Katkov

"A night to remember 07"

Christmas bash 07 - A night to remember was indeed a blast. Many of the guests present weren’t first timers and were actually looking forward to the party since it was announced weeks ago. The program kicked of with a solo performance of the hymn Oh holy night which ushered in a choir by the students. The drama tells of a news reporter who interviewed different people from different walks of life to hear what they have to say about Christmas. The response he received was rather unexpected, it even resulted in him being beaten! Finally someone made the difference by sharing the true message of love.

Midway through the party, we had the pleasure of our pastor, Bishop Alexey rudenky share about the love of God and the forgiveness of sin through the coming of Christ on Christmas day. He also took the chance to welcome us international students and prayed for God’s favor and blessing to be upon our lives.

We also got our friends to take part in some whacky games. From passing rubber bands with straws which became a battle of the sexes, we made our guest seek out similarities in their belongings as compared to others. These games turned out to be simple but hilarious. In short, the aim is to get everyone involved and to be a part of the event.

Next was a combination of a mime and ballet dance while the choir sang the song we are the reason dressed in white with glittery gold sashes, the dance was beautiful and nonetheless grand. The final performance was one which simply depicts God’s sacrifice. Acting to the song Everything . This simple skid with neither words nor props shows that we can’t find satisfaction in money or alcohol and anything for that matter but in Christ alone. It left many of our guests in awe of God's love and sacrifice

The menu this year was burgers and salad with mash potatoes. Dinner was served rather timely as our guest were getting hungry but not before a short session of free-style and break-dancing. To build the appetite perhaps.

An unexpected treat which was prepared for our friends this year was an award for Mr and Ms Christmas. For the past few days leading up to the trip we have been meeting up to pray for God's protection, favour, and providence . True to His word, God answered our prayers. We were able to buy the train tickets through some of the students did not have their passport with them. It was a miracle how we were able to board the train without any problems, considering the fact that we had no "spravka” with us (permission to travel).

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Natasha and Dennis,( our host from the church in Astrakhan). We gathered to pray and worship before setting out to the streets to distribute the astrakhan edition of Wassup! At first it looked as thought it would rain as the weather report forecasted, as we began to pray it only drizzle slightly and the sun came up in the afternoon. The people we met on the streets were friendly on the whole and some even struck up conversations. They were curious to know what a bunch of foreign students were doing on the streets distributing newsletters. We walked for more than 2 hours and made our way to the Kremlin. After distributing the newsletter, we visited the international students from the medical and technical universities in their hostels. There we made friends with students from India, Africa, Vietnam and Egypt, among them were Farai, Kemke, Noah and Muhammad. We invited them to the concert the following day.

In the evening, we gathered with JE astrakhan members for a time of fellowship, praise and sharing. The meeting began with a game which broke the ice and got the people warmed up. Next was praise and worship led by Kelvin and the AO1 band. Xun Jin shared a message of how only God can heal and restore the hurts and losses in our lives. The meeting ended in a joyous mood, with everyone mixing and talking with each other.

On the following day, we joined our host church for Sunday morning service. “Impressions of God” drama team from Jesus embassy performed a drama entitled “everything”, portraying the desperate and unfathomable love of Christ which He promises to all, freely, if only we would accept Him into our lives. This was followed by sharing on giving by our leader, Dennis. The pastor preached an eye-opening truth based on the book of Job: It is we who make openings in the "hedge of protection" that God places around us when we disobey him by sinning.

The student concert kicked off with a time of praise and worship led by the Russian youth from Astrakhan. This was followed by a dance from the Spirit of David team. Kelvin shared about the story of Bartimaeus from Mark10:46, that if you seek God and are desperate for him despite what people say, you will see miracles and blessings in your life. The meeting ended with a time of refreshments and fellowship. It was a sad time bidding goodbye to our friends as we left for the train station. Indeed it is amazing how God can use a group of international students in a foreign land. Truly we can never thank God enough for the blessings and the coolness of being his children and serving him. We truly believe and pray that God will raise up a generation of students in Astrakhan who will be passionate for Christ and for the salvation of their friends.

By: Johanan Lawrence.

Overnight prayer meeting

An Invitation was sent out promptly and on the 20th of October, about 30 students turned up for a “slumber- party” with God Almighty. The first JE prayer meeting for this academic semester started of with a warm dinner at about 8.45. This time around several new faces were seen. On the menu was chicken curry, fried “masala” style chicken and a lovely mixed vegetable salad. The dinner which was prepared by the students themselves was undoubtedly sumptuous. Also joining the table was pastor Paul Elis accompanied by his wife and son. He was the speaker for the evening. Dinner was followed by a time of praise and worship with Johanan and Kelvin on the guitars and Lifan on the keyboard. It is just awesome how a heart of worship can usher in the presence of God because that is actually all that He desires.
Pastor Paul who already isn’t a stranger to JesusEmbassy had much to share about his travels, and plans including God’s call for him to visit <country-region st="on"></country-region>Nigeria and <country-region st="on"></country-region><place st="on"></place>Malaysia. He pointed out that we should “test” the words that enter our ears the way we test the food that enters our mouth. He added that God reveals a little about Himself as we spend more time with Him and know His word. It is very important for Christians to know the word of God because it is the power to live and the lamp that illuminates our paths. Finally he urged the students to develop a passion for God’s word and proclaim the promises of God.
Throughout the night many areas were “touched” and “covered” by prayer. The students prayed for their families that all will come to know God, unity, for their respective nations, friends and also for their personal life. Prayer session was alternated with praise and worship, games and even supper!!
Even though the meeting lasted the whole night till dawn, it felt as though only a short moment had passed
The prayer meeting ended with JesusEmbassy as a group praying for each and every person present and also for their respective ministries.
It was no surprised that everyone was tired and could be seen with their eyes drooping as the clock struck 6 in the morning. However these students came with a desire to stand in the gap and intercede for their friend, and it was indeed a mission accomplished. We looks forward to great things in God’s perfect timing!!!
By xunjin

wassup making new friends

Jesus Embassy organized a 'welcome party' for the new batch of students on Saturday the 6th of October. Our guest were required to get to know 5 new friends from different parts of the world, these people enthusiastically got out of their seats to shake new hands and exchange sweet smiles. Ice breaking session was then followed by a very tricky game called "Yes and No", where the interviewee must never ever use the word 'Yes' and 'No' when answering the interviewer's questions. Listening to their answers was really amusing. Our dear guests were also taught to dance to a song called 'The Cannibal King' by Johanan. Chuckles and laughter could be heard as Johanan showed the groovy dance moves. To add to all these, Bollywood actors and actresses from Impressions of God came up with an impressive sketch, about introducing Jesus Embassy and its ministries.

Later on, Kelvin came up and shared some words with the people. The verse he quoted from the bible was very true, 'Mix with the wise, and you will become wise; mix with the fools, and trouble will come upon you'. He mentioned about the importance of making friends and supporting each other in this foreign land. Vinodh, Keat Leong and few others hyped the party up when they started break-dancing, flashing some really bone-breaking cool moves. Towards the end of the party, food was being served. On the menu was delicious-finger-licking-good spicy curry chicken and salad. All was grabbed to the last bit. After dinner, a video-clip of Dennis the leader of Jesus Embassy saying 'priviet' from <country-region st="on"></country-region><place st="on"></place>Malaysia was being showed on screen along with other clips of Jesus Embassy's activities. All the fun, joy and laughter came to a temporary end, when it started to get late. Sad to say it was already 9.30pm.However it is just the beginning of many new friendships and more parties that rock.

By: Ling Jyh chyang ( Andrew)
